What are Ball Heads, how to use them?

A ball head is a type of tripod head that allows the photographer to rotate the camera around the vertical axis, as well as tilt it up and down. This type of head is ideal for photographing landscapes and architecture because it enables the photographer to fine-tune the composition of the photograph very easily. To use a ball head, first, loosen the knob at the top of the head. Next, rotate or tilt the camera until you have positioned it exactly how you want it. Finally, tighten down the knob to secure the camera in place. Ball heads are pretty simple to use once you get the hang of them, but they can be a bit challenging for beginners.
