How to use Green Giant Arborvitae in your Landscape?

If you're looking for a fast-growing, low-maintenance privacy hedge, the green giant arborvitae is a great choice. These evergreen trees can grow up to 3 feet per year and reach a height of 50 feet or more, making them perfect for creating a natural privacy screen around your property. Arborvitae is also relatively drought-tolerant once they're established, so they're a good option for landscaping in dry climates.

When planting green giant arborvitae, space them 4 to 6 feet apart so they have room to grow. Choose a location that gets full sun to partial shade and has well-drained soil. If you live in an area with heavy clay soil, consider planting the trees on a gentle slope to improve drainage.

Once your trees are in the ground, give them a deep watering so the roots can get established. Water them once a week during the first growing season, then reduce watering to once every two weeks during the second year. After that, they'll only need occasional watering during periods of drought.

To keep your arborvitae looking their best, trim away any yellow or brown leaves as they appear. These evergreens don't require much pruning, but you can shape them into hedges or topiaries if you like. With a little care, your Green Giant Arborvitae will thrive in your landscape for years to come!
